The Wykeham Collegiate welcomes you to the Dash and Crash Canoe race.

Proceed to the NCC Club House and help yourself to a complimentary cup of tea and coffee or purchase a cappuccino, bacon and egg roll and/or pan cakes courtesy of the TWC parents committee.
Late entries – go to the TWC gazebo – SNRS R150.00 + JNRS R100.00
NOTE: All late entries will be placed in the last batch.
Numbers – Numbers can be purchased at the TWC gazebo.
Seconders – Proceed to the TWC gazebo for a road map to the view points and the finish.
Batches – Lists are pasted on the club house walls and on the containers at the pounds.
Batch stickers can be obtained at the pounds situated behind the Fezela Canoe Club.
NOTE: You will not be allowed onto the water without a batch sticker.
NEW ….NEW……6km Trail run/cycle: Thanks to the staff from DUCT there is now a clear marked path following the right hand river bank from the start to the finish. For your safety there are no road crossings as the path goes underneath the four bridges. Your seconders are welcome to follow the race by bicycle. Once the paddlers are finished they can do some Dusi training by either portaging their K1 back to the start or they can leave their K1 in the pound situated at the finish and run/jog back to the start. The TWC parents will be providing meals and refreshments at the NCC club house.
Race route: Start facing upstream and go clockwise around the top buoy and paddle on river left down to Earnie Pearce weir. Follow the river and exit on river right 400m below the N3 Bridge. There is a 50m portage to the finish line at Ascot Inn Bush Lodge. The race is approximately 9kms in length.
K1’s A batch start at 7am with 10 minute intervals between each batch. The last boat should finish at about 8.30am.
K2’s A batch start at 10.30am with 10 minute intervals between each batch. The last boat should finish at about 12 noon.
Once you have completed your race make your way back to the NCC club house for meals and refreshments. Prize giving for both races will be at NCC at about 1pm.
There is no prize money BUT the biggest lucky draw prize in SA canoeing is on offer. A 14 day all expenses paid trip paddling a C-kayak around Mauritius valued at over R20 000.00.
